Bernese were bred to be watchdogs. Their easy temperament and silly personality is balanced with their intelligence and deep loyalty to their family. So whether they're playing around or laying around, they are always keeping an eye on their family.
Berners are cute puppies and even cuter dogs. The thick, silky, and moderately long coat is tricolored: jet black, white, and tan. The distinctive markings on the coat and face are breed hallmarks, combined with the intelligent gleam in the dark eyes, add to the Berner’s majestic presence.
Berners have a joyous attitude and determination. Paired with their love the outdoors and need for time with their family, they are the perfect companion for any adventure.
When you are having a bad day, there is no cuddler better than a Berner. Bernese are very affectionate and love to be with owners. Bernese are very in tune with their families and are able to pick up with someone needs a hug. Many Bernese make great therapy dogs!
Bernese have a history of being called "all around good dogs". This is because they are multi-purpose working dog, loyal to their family, have a well manner demeanor, silly personality, eager to please, beautiful dog. The worst part about a Bernese Mountain Dog is that they do not have a longer lifespan.
